I got some from decathlon that are stunning, 2 hours of snowball fights and my hands were bone dry and warm (also been good on 2-3 hour cycles down to minus 8 or so).

they have a zip on the back of the hand with a yellow pull tag - in the sale (along with loads of stuff) .

The DHB windproof ones. Around 12 pounds from wiggle. Plenty warm enough for me and well cheap

When it comes to riding in the winter dont piss about trying to save a few quid on your feet and hands .. I would recommend Gore CROSS GORE-TEX® Gloves. You'll get them inbetween £30-£40 but well worth it.

I find with gloves, that ones that people rate as being too hot to ride in leave me with freezing cold hands. It seems quite personal as to how cold your extremeties get, I never get cold feet but my hands freeze at the frst sign of chilly weather.

Anyway, I have a set of no name water proof gloves that were ok, then I put some silk liners underneath (£6 from decathalon) and my hands have been toasty ever since. The other advantage of liners is that you can keep then on to do fiddly things so your hands don't get completely frozen.

The most important thing for me is that the inner liner doesn't come unattached. Had a few pairs that have done this, really put me off buying another pair. Which don't? Tempted by the Gore ones...

Currently I just use a cheap liner glove with Altura night vision windproof. Works OK, but would enjoy more warmth.

The new Fox Antifreezes are stunningly good, almost as warm as the motorbike gloves I commute in yet they don't impair my riding at all. And the removable inner layer means that if it warms up you can just take it out and ride on.

Any glove whose lining can turn inside out should be burnt, it's such a hopeless design failing and not even that hard to avoid 🙁

fatblokefromwarwick I've got those and like them apart from the end of the thumb which has no insulation on the nail side and the end of my thumb freezes.

I'll probably look at the Fox gloves for my next pair.
