What are other people wearing on their feet?

I have some old GTX Shimano shoes which I am considering upgrading for boots (Shimano MW7) but I really like my knee length Sealskinz socks, I'm not sure they would work together? Are the boots good enough on their own?

Ideally I want something I can use on my road bike and also for winter MTBing.

What do other people do?

Cheers,

Mick

I've Specialized Defrosters, my wife has 45Nrth Japanthers (now superseded by the Ragnarok). Both are fine for UK winter, if you are going somewhere colder then it gets a little harder to find stuff, certainly here in the UK.

Remember to get loose fitting boots so you aren't constricting blood flow.

MW7's, mainly because my summer shoes are Shimano, and it's a doddle to set the cleats up the same as they use the same sole as the M089 shoe.

Been using my MW7's through summer on wet sloppy days too.

For the road I wear normal road shoes with the vents taped up, toe covers and overshoes as well if needed. A pair of On-One Thicky socks complete the look, I've never got cold feet with that combo.
Mudguards help too, they keep spray off your shoes.

Northwave Artic & Sealskinz Thin (I have quite poor peripheral circulation & feel the cold in my fingers & toes) were bombproof for me last winter.

I use Specialized Defrosters on and off road, completely waterproof and combined with thick wooly socks, very warm. Done 1000s of miles in 0C-ish temps in them over the years.

I seemingly suffer with cold feet, so lake 303’s for me.
