I've recently bought a Fatty frame . is there any other Fatbike wheels people are using apart from the on-one wheels ?
also what cranks ? I was thinking of X9 ....
Crankwise I went with RF at about £120 from wiggle. Lovely looking and easy to fit spacer system which worked lovely on my fatty.
Wheels; I went with cheap rims from Robsson.de (£35 each) - easy to drill them yourself, or they were talking of bringing out some pretty snazzy ones with cut outs. These are the weight saving holes/cutouts - they come with spoke holes drilled. Hubs: Hope Fatsno hubs, but if the Hope are too dear then I've seen 170/135mm Formula hubs very cheap on ebay.
Cranks: I got the Raceface ones for about the same (£110 from Evans). Cant fault them. Or could go square taper; BB from on one for £40 and any old crank. Not tried the SRAM ones but don't trust them because of the old Truvative reliability issues.
On one BB here, german rims too.
Too easy to [s]waste[/s] spend money for few weight benefits.
If you are thinking of Surly you can get light bicycle carbon...
