Good old 26 in a 650b bike!
24 in a 29er frame mightn't have been a bad thing
Every bike looked like a fat bike at one point!
We watched the top 20 riders come through the bottom of the mud section the commencal riders had a massive advantage as they were the only one more or less riding their bikes, didn't realise what they'd done but it makes sense as the meta frames didn't look that great for clearance normally
The scott rider was behind them at that point
The only other rider to be able to ride was the team Giant guy on the Glory he said it was heavy enough to plough through and had loads of clearance
Certainly was different this year !
Fat bike frame with standard width rims and 2.1" mud tyres ftw?
Anything smaller than you've got. That race was horrible. To think I started on 2nd row as well...
I had no issues with mud clearance. Spend Saturday morning riding down the staircase in my hotel. Ace fun
orange alpine 26" and this was the first time ive ever struggled to push a bike down hill! raced on the saturday and then decided with 2 friends to just complete it together as we were never going to get a good time. come in around 3hours 15min! will use the same bike for the mega next year too.
