Freeriders used them on frames with short seat-tubes. Trying to find one in 30.9. Anyone know what they were called and if there are any around?

Yeah, a few people have been looking for these and really struggled.

I'm not sure why you would bother though - just get a Reverb?

A Titec 'Scoper' is what you're after.

I have two in the garage that were on the girls bikes before they got dropper posts. I could sell you one for £20. Email me if interested.

NC17 made one as well, not sure if it had a name as it was just always "That NC17 Scoper thing"
