Following on from my thread about changing to flat pedals. Any recommendations for a waterproof comfortable flat shoe.

Don't think there is much choice outside the vaude model.

Regular flats and sealskinz socks for when it's 'proper' wet.

Oh, and a shoe dryer.

Some of those new 5-10 trail cross shoes might be waterproof.

Vaude moab with polaris waterproof socks. I waded through a river a few months ago with the above and still had dry feet.

The Vaude am moab mid stx is the only (imho) shoe for Winter flat pedal riding. I got a pair after they were highly recommended here. Used all last winter, just great. For summer, light sealskinz and any shoe that will dry out quickly.

Any decent soled flat shoe, a size too big, and sealskinz with a warm sock below.

You won't keep water out, there's a dirty great hole at the top. No hill runners I know ever wear waterproof shoes, be like the fell runners.

Thin socks, plastic bag, another pair of socks. Then use any shoes.

I'd say they're half a size smaller than average. I'm usually an 11. I wear a Vaude 11 and it's snug but the 12 was too big.

Another Vaude wearer here, great shoes! I went half size up. If you have a store nearby then just go try em on.

I've been riding in some Mavic XA Elite goretex shoes (not the boots).
They're great!
Amazingly comfy for riding or walking, totally waterproof, not sweaty and can be converted to SPD and back again

Might try and get some spare shoes to have a dry pair while the other is drying.

Those Vaude boots look great though but wouldn't stop the puddle deluges going straight in the top!

Been using these for years now. Don’t think they’re made anymore, but I found my last pair in Germany I think.

They're not, though rumour has it, there is one in the works.
They do work well with a thin merino sock under Showers pass waterproof socks.

The winter trailcross ones are due out in August. I've got a pair of the light summer ones and they're fantastic. Will be getting a pair of the gortex ones as soon as they're available.
