2 * Páramo Halkon jackets (matchy matchy his and hers) for £350 from the ebay outlet - approx £800 worth of jackets, thanks to a tipoff from STW. This place rocks.

Lots of chiggle stuff, shorts, trousers, jackets and lights, pretty much what lots of people were doing too.

I think the best biking bargain was the Ragley Piglet for £749.

Non biking bargain was a genuine M51 US army parka in great unfaded condition for £6 in a charity shop!

A steal. Shame the uncle of the lad in the balaclava who owned the bike wasn't there to hand it over.

To continue the Genesis Day One theme - a 2012 Day One with the 853 frame & Alfine 11spd hub in mint condition for £200 on FB.

A Whyte G-170 frame c\w shock, Lyrik fork & dropper post for £250 also on FB. The seller threw in the wheels although the back ARC30 rim was goosed. A new rim was £80 but a new wheel with SRAM hub & the same rim was £35 at CRC. Built it up with spares I had & shiny AliExpress bits plus TRP Slate Evos for €55.

A Vitus E-Mythique VRX from the dying embers of CRC for £2,200. Okay deal but I sold it, still in the box, for £2,700.

Anything made by ZTTO off AliExpress. The quality is terrific.

I had a better bike bargain but it's worth its own thread.

Honestly, my biggest bargain was an electric mattress warmer. It wasn't reduced or super-cheap, but it is worth every Krona now that it is cold.

the Pro Caliber definitely wasn’t stolen btw, I know it’s history!!! (It’s a long story that I don’t want to go into here, but needless to say it involves an estate sale). I was just very lucky to get it at the price I did…..

no balaclavas or bolt cutters involved…..

Probably the carbon gravel forks with cargo bosses that Alpkit were flogging off on eBay for £60. They will be gracing my Tempest in the near future. Honourable mention to the Polaris bib tights that I got for £4.73 postage thanks to the kind soul off here who found them too tight and decided it wasn't worth returning them.

I got a set of SLX 4-pot brakes for £15 an end from CRC, came with really long hoses but I can't be bothered to shorten them. Put them on my Surly Straggler that I use for carting my dog about, it stops real quick now.

My favourite bargains of the year were tent and automotive related.

I picked up one of the Nordisk'glamping' tents along with groundsheet and inner bedrooms for an absolute bargain in the Chiggle melt down. I was going to take it when I did Skye/NC500 roadtrip but I was bothered it might have been a bit too big/extravagant for just me and doggo. Luckily another PSA resulted in a smaller Nordisk tent a few days before I was set to depart so I took that instead. It was a great tent and a brilliant roadtrip.

Automotive wise - I've had numerous bargains/good buys/lucky searches in the last year that have contributed to running my £500 Porsche which having just passed its 2nd MOT in my ownership (without any advisorys)  will be my biggest automotive bargain ever.

my £500 Porsche

I knew that would get a mention!

But you didn't buy that this year, did you?

So it doesn't count!

Biggest bargain of the year has to be the Lapierre XR Race 7.9 I got No.1 son for his birthday, absolute steal at £1600 down from £4500 at Pauls Cycles.

Hotly followed by an absolutely  mint Ridley Helium SLA (rim brake) also for No.1 child with 5800 105 groupset and decent shimano wheels for £350, with added Fizik R3 carbon saddle and Fizik carbon post 🙂

Two pairs of Prime Attaquer disc wheels in the great Wiggle clearout for £99 per pair, bloody brilliant they are too, now residing on the kids CX bikes.

Lastly, a full GRX 400 groupset off eBay for £155, cassette, chain everything even the BB.

Ha ha! Yeah. They were pretty good.

I'd followed the £500 Porsche thread with awe so I thought it would pop up here.

Folding saw purchased from AliExpress. Looks very similar to a Silky big boy. Use for the last year trail building, removing blown down trees etc. Works brilliantly. Very sharp and will cut through surprisingly large diameter trunks. Great piece of kit. Cost me £10

I see your £500 Porsche and raise you, the £15 Boxster.

My boyfriend bought £15 worth of tickets and won a Boxster, we picked it up on Friday last week and spent most of the weekend thrashing around the Peaks. Excellent fun!

2001 3.2 L Boxster S 6-speed Manual, with tasteful mods from the Top Dead Center Youtube boys if anyone is familiar.

He's chuffed to bits, and I have a nippy new ride for my once-a-week driving commute.

Boxster

ok, I didn’t actually get it for zero. But paid £399 for the epix pro in 42mm size (I have skinny wrists) over Black Friday. I’ve never seen this version on discount before, usually £739.99. UPS “lost” the package. Garmin have done the right thing and are sending out another. They gave me a link to re-order at £0.00 to get it into their system.
