After mercilessly ribbing my brother for filming his less than amazing bike rides, I have succumb to the self glorification that is filming my own rubbish skillz.
So in a vain attempt to make it slightly more impressive, anyone got any recommendations for free video editing software? Something nice and basic- am not going to be spending hours making Lord of the Rings stuff.

The windows movie maker is OK - download the older XP version if you're on Windows 7 as it seems like is does more stuff.

Windows MM is good for most but if you want to get specific features this opensource stuff is good I have used the antiShake add-on to great effect:
