it seems whenever tubeless sealant is mentioned its either crap or not great

my stans bottle is running low, so i need some new supplies

I've used Joe's eco (blue coloured) and that seemed ok £16 a litre (CRC/wiggle but out of stock)

stans (with added Glitter) £16 460ml

i'm considering

the muc-off on offer £15 a litre (incl postage on £25 spend)

or OKO magic milk 1 litre or oko magic milk Hi-Fibre 1 Litre £9.99 @ planetX + £4 P+P

which would you go for?

i should have gone to peaty's BB, orange seal was £5 a bottle Grrr..

OKO, it's almost half price when there's not a bike on the label (£7.2/l Vs £14/l)

Feedback on the Peaty's was awful, I thought?

I'm currently using Stan's (good but never cheap), Mavic (good, came free with wheels), Joe's Elite Racer (seems OK, was cheap on CRC) and I've got some Oko high-fibre (supposed to be more effective for MTB than the standard Oko) waiting to try,

Also got a litre of the Muc-off to try. Buy some chamois cream to get up to £25 free postage.

What thisisnotaspoon said. Although depending on the size of the thorn, it may or may not totally seal…

OKO high fibre for me. £9.99 a litre at On One/Planet X last time I looked (and bought some!)

The standard 'tractor' OKO and the Hi Fibre bike stuff do seem a bit different.

Bike stuff is a bit thinner, and the fibres look a bit different.

The standard stuff dried out/evaporated quite quickly when I used it, time will tell with the bike stuff.

As far as does it work....I had a very large thorn in the front the other day, pissed liquid when I pulled it, but sealed up in a few seconds.

The only VFM one I have found is Stans, the race one seems good too.

All the others I have tried, which is most, have been cheap, thus a waste of money. This includes the Peatys & MucOff ones.

I just buy Stans now as I know it works

How much do you get through? The stans works well for me but I don't go through it that fast so it seems fine for VFM

I use Stans- it's not the best vfm but what the hell, I pay like £20 a year for sealant so it's not worth 10 minute's hassle to save a quid or two- and bad sealant can be a lot more than 10 minute's hassle. If you found me trailside with a flat and offered to magic it back up for a fiver, I'd take that, after all.

@mikewsmith I’m running 3 bikes tubeless and have the wife’s bike to reset up,

i usually stick in 80-120ml and run it till problems hence Stans is enough for 4-6 tyres With some left to top up later on , been changing tyres recently on 2 bikes ..

im a tight Yorkshireman I like a bargain, but at the same time I don’t want to be stuck trailside and have to stick a tube in

yeah Leary’s original formula was poor , the remix is better,

a mate got “orange seal” cheap at peatys bike bonanza, I’m told that’s the best stuff

Stans.  All the reviews I've watched of other sealants say "pay the extra fiver" for something you know works...

Stans or Orange Seal for me. As above, not worth trying new stuff when those I’ve used for 7+ Years has been pretty much faultless.

<resists temptation to write the obvious 😂>

For me with WTB rims and tyres, (tough carcass) it’s idiot proof. The tyres already go up with a track pump and are still inflated in the morning without sealant, I fed them two scoops of OKO high fibre and gave them a good spin and they’ve been fine since.  No concerns yet, but haven’t done anything like stabbing them with a screwdriver...

I have used Slime tubeless sealant in the past. I've been really impressed by its sealing ability (lots of thorny stuff round here) but it's mega sticky if it escapes.

Don't mix it up with the inner tube sealant. (No I haven't but I have come close).

Stans seems pretty good and I have some untested Decathlon stuff (super cheap).
