There seems to be loads of options out there so what are people using? Needs to be pretty hardy and repel water.

The top is made of two 18mm boards if that makes any difference!

Kitchen worktop is pretty good for skinning a workbench.

In a similar vein to RustyNissanPrairie a sheet of hardboard smmoth face up and a few screws to hold it in place.

Once it starts to get a bit scuffed up rip it up and replace it.

WD40 applied with a rag. Occasional light sand and reapply if you can be bothered.

Used fork oil, applied while servicing forks.
