Nevermind the cost, what would you change and why?
Sensors to auto turn on nitro for the ups
Lighter wheels would be the only thing I think.
An M7000 LH shifter so that it matches the RH one I've just fitted.
A better rider. The bike is way more capable than me. 😳
Stem cell treatment for the rider would make the greatest difference, but it costs upward of £60,000............so i'll settle for grippy 27.5+ tyres for the coming winter gloop.
My ascr is crying out for some carbon wheels..
Other than that nothing really.. Although etap on the roadie is pencilled in for next year
On my summer road bike, I would put on some nice, deeper-sectioned rims.
new frame
but that would mean new wheels
A Lyrik damper for my Yaris and a luftkappe.
A better owner.
Some better lighter forks.
I only built up my hardtail coz I was given some Recon 29er forks. I had a few parts knocking around, but. Nothing 29er so ended up buying an Orange Clockwork frame and a few other bits.
It's great for the local more xc-ish under 2 hour rides and night rides, but it weighs over 30lbs.
A Reba is over a pound lighter than the Recon, and probably performs better.
So a lighter better fork would be nice.
But I'm a bit short at the moment trying to pay off the mortgage while helping my grown up lad financially as he has a young family and is on crap temping money etc

Carbon frame, but I’m not fussed really. Really love my bike.
A Lyrik damper for my Yaris and a luftkappe.
Get th Luft, it’s brilliant - Charger damper... I’ve tried a Lyrik and it’s not noticeably better than my Yari.
Some new forks. The low-end Fox 32s are pretty pants, but I keep telling myself that I don't ride it often enough to justify the upgrade cost.
P-jay - the luftkappe is a better upgrade than a charger?

I am in the odd position of having all my bikes just as I want them. OK maybe a nicer stem on my ss road bike but thats it
Marzocchi 55 rc3 ti fork, in 29er 160mm form.
It might cost a fair bit to get one made from scratch, but I'm sure it could be done if money was no object.

In my completely biased and unscientific opinion yes.
I bought a Yari on a whim because it was £350 in a sale and it meant even after buying a Charger upgrade (£230 from TFT) it was a lot cheaper than buying a Lyrik. Ran the Yari for a month and didn’t feel the need for the Charger, fitted the Luft and haven’t look back - it’s a brilliant fork that’s reliable and piss easy to service.
Just junk most or all of the tokens after you fit it.
Some mates have got Lyriks (and Pikes) and I guess if you have the wherewithal to set the high and low compression perfectly you might get a better tune, but I’ve tried and tried them and can’t tell the difference.
A weather machine so it's always 'just right'. Warm enough for short sleeves but not mega sweaty, dry trails with enough grip, light until 10pm...
I need a 125mm dropper. The 100mm the bike came with is annoying.
P-Jay - I'm tempted to get a lower leg service and a luftkappe as it wouldn't cost that much. My previous revelation really benefitted from a lower leg service when it had a longer air shaft fitted. Came back so much plusher than as new.
Already removed all the bottomless tokens - still not getting full travel no matter how ****less my riding.
Lighter wheels would be about the only thing.
Or a Shockwiz as I'm bit clueless when it comes to fettling suspesion settings.
I like the idea of a 1x drivetrain, mainly so I can try an oval chainring and position the dropped lever better, but my legs / lungs aren't up to that at the moment!
A set of those SC carbon wheels.
Di2 for the roadie
The Four - Full XTR, new forks and shock, headset and stem.
The road bike - Ultegra brake calioers
Expensive contact points, pedals, bars, grips, seat etc
I've just ordered some Pikes for my Alpine Five to replace the low end Fox 34's currently on it.
The 34's have never felt quite right.
Wheels. Light,strong, 26" wheels.
Because mine are heavy, properly heavy cos I'm skint but need the strength.
Nicer wheels for my Seqouia
A new saddle ..never been that happy with the stock Whyte perch on the T130 ( who makes these for Whyte?)..and it's splitting at the seams after only 16months..
I like the SDG Bel Air ..which stayed on my Nomad for 10 years in Ibeam form ( replaced once and still going strong) ..but I'm still looking ..

Depending on how old I’d be tempted to go for the full service, but consider DIYing it. I’ve worked in offices my whole life and aren’t very practical, it wasn’t hard and gave me a much better understanding of how it all worked.

I don't see a Luftkappe working well in this scenario but a Charger would (and then a Luftkappe might help too, without the ramp up from the Motion Control damper).
Regarding my bikes, they're sorted! I guess I could go 1x11 or 1x12 on both, and/or drop some weight with carbon cranks, but the former will make me lazy (and I'd miss my Saint shifter) and the latter, well, in terms of losing weight it's the last place the bike wants to lose it in terms of centre of gravity.
Falllen out of love with my 26 Soul as it feels short and twitchy compared to my FS. Nowt wrong with it so more a case of me doing some MTFU....
