Just got a quote from the Post Office and with insurance was £22!!

Wow how prices have risen there.

What courier do you use etc?

Cheers!!

I plug the details into parcel2go and parcel2ship (and there's also parcelmonkey!) and go with whichever suits delivery and insurance requirements; just being sure to avoid Yodel/HDNL or whatever they call themselves these days.

How about www.collectplus.co.uk
You can drop off your parcel at 100s of different locations (usually corner shops), seem reasonably cheap and do the job!

I have used them all and now resigned myself to parcelforce. Do an online search for a discount code, you can normally find a 10% one online. And doing it direct is cheaper than on the agents sites.

If you do use parcel2go, dont be sucked into the cheap offers as its a 50/50 chance it will arrive

I've been having great results from Parcelmonkey... cheap and reliable in my experience.

Having seen first hand how the local Yodel agent operates I can safely say I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.Hermes don't appear much better either. The threads about Citilink and DPD etc on here don't inspire confidence either. If I'm selling something I'd build it into the price or let the buyer arrange it and if I'm sending something to a shop or for a service then I'd use the courier they use/recommend.

UPS, Parcel Force, TNT
are the best in my experience - pay a bit more but is more likely to get there! City link have been ok in thre past but others have had issues

stay away from Yodel, hermes (sounds too much like herpes!)

sending some forks I would expect to pay £22

to send a fork I guess it'd be less.

Approx prices
£5* if you drop off at a collection point
£5.50* if you have them collected from you.
3-5 days delivery time
*without Insurance - £2.40 for £250 insurance.

I've seen MyHermes come in for abuse on STW, but i've never had any bother and used them about 10 times now.

i just paid £20.00 for delivery of some forks via citylink... that included pick up and insurance... the insurance was as much as the delivery itself.

oh well... you live and learn!

I buy all my coffee from Happy Donkey. Not just because they roast great beans (they do) but because they use Interlink for deliveries.

I always get an email or text or both telling me when they're going to deliver, to the hour, and allowing me tio change it.

I don't know if they will do a single collection though.
