My wheelchair.
I currently have 25" wheels, so a limited choice of tyres. I'm thinking of getting 26" wheels, and 6" castors to maintain the angles. I have Spinergy wheels that are brilliant but really tight to fit tyres on, I can have up to 1.9" tyres before they start to rub on the frame.
So I'm looking for 26" tyres with at most small knobbles, 1.7" to 1.9" wide, flexible bead, and preferrably easy to fit to Spinergy rims. Any suggestions, preferrably for tyres in stock.
Feels like Schwable Marathon in a 559-47.
Alternatively does tubeless, a Dynaplug and a CO2 canister or two have a practical use in a wheelchair? Might be a good way of addressing punctures easily.
I’m way outside my knowledge and experience, but genuinely interested (and hopefully helpful).
Thanks igm, I spoke to the guy at Spokz who said they're not tubeless ready rims, but I could try a ghetto tubeless kit.
True ghetto tubeless doesn’t really need tubeless specific tyres, just reasonably robust ones, but it can be hit and miss.
Smart Sam? 2.1 I know, but it looks narrow and it will work ghetto tubeless.
Kenda Small block 8's would be handy
