...the current rubbish alps conditions.

Heading to th'alps next weekend, and not too pleased with what I'm seeing weather wise.

What is the latest, greatest thing in all-mountain mud tyres? I like mud-x's for British winters, but they're a bit small for big mountain stuff.

Cheers,
Dave

German, Swiss, Austrian, Italian, French Alps or do you mean Morzine?

For the open hill sides of PDS Swampthings worked well historically, Screams are maybe a bit overall.

Chamonix and Les Arcs for this trip... so rocky, but with the occasional swampy bit

I'd probably go some big minions for there, nothing boggy like Morzine. If it's wet get up to St Foye for the rocky trails up there rather than some of the muddy resort ones. La Thuile is looking good from some of the EWS vids so nothing like the PDS gloop 🙂

Magic Mary's? Not a dedicated mud tyre but would work in less gloopy conditions too.

Magis Mary in front and Hans Dampf rear, both in supergravity and trailstar or vertstar version. And you are good to go

Been watching White Rooms' facebook, seems like Pila dodged the bad weather? And La Thuile looks good lower down (the EWS was going higher than the lifts do, I think, so ran into worse high-level weather). La Thuile's just over the col so not hard to get to if you've got transport.

(and also, ****ing awesome)
