What is that? Pollution creating a foam?
Its not necessarily pollution just organic matter, fish p155 etc. Still bloody awful and wouldn't go near it.
Was there a porridge spillage? 😆
Stay in the pub
It is sea foam
"Sea foam, ocean foam, beach foam, or spume is a type of foam created by the agitation of seawater, particularly when it contains higher concentrations of dissolved organic matter.
These compounds can act as surfactants or foaming agents. As the seawater is churned by breaking waves in the surf zone adjacent to the shore, the presence of these surfactants under these turbulent conditions traps air, forming persistent bubbles which stick to each other through surface tension."
It was a very stormy day in N Scotland today to cause all that harmless foam 😉
'harmless foam' comprising organic binder trapping salts and dissolved oxygen in water.
Corrosion fest!
I do hope it all washed off.
Sounds like a bike shop's wet dream for selling components and labour!
PaulD (jealous we have nothing like it here)
The rain that followed see to the cleaning duties 😉
No need to worry about the bike maintenance, I have been looking after bikes for the last 20 years. That bike gets stripped down every 3 months or so, to keep everything running sweet - new bearings, drivetrain ect.
The maintenance reflects the sh 1te I ride in around here 😆
ah thats alright then if you;re gonna wash the salt off in three months...
