So I read the tyre wall for pressure guidance (40psi seemed to be in the middle of suggested range) and ended up blowing up a perfectly good inner tube (may have been to pressure gauge being dodgy).
What pressure do folks recommend for the 29er noobs?
I reckon I'm probably running them too high at the mo.
Steve
same as 26", why would it be any different? Depends on tire & width, your weight, how you ride, the terrain.
I think 30-40psi is what most "wheels on the ground" folk ride.
As above, similar to 26" (unless you're also swapping to tubeless in which case about 5 to 10psi less) for a given tyre size.
Usually around 26/28psi for me for 2.2 ACXs on a hardtail with 27mm wide rims and tubes, I'm 71kg. Having said that had them down to 22psi at Dalby last week, the bumps were killing me!
maybe youd trapped the inner in the bead/rim
I run 35psi in a 2.4" RR, 35mm rim, carbon forks, 40psi Ignitor out the back (Ti post) 95+Kg lard arse on top.
29er wheels, 35 to 40 psi!
