I ride the same tyres all year round until they get worn out. I am sure there must be plenty of riders like me who don't change rubber after looking at the weather!
I mainly ride trail centers and the Mendips but I do the odd run round some of the Bristol trails when its not too muddy.
Also if there are any bargains out there let me know!

hmmm at 730g a tyre thats heavy!
ive been using panaracing xc pros for a few years as i do a lot of road miles i find they have little resistance on the road and good and grippy off road.
ill be using slicks and conti speed kings this year see how they get on.
Maxxis Ignitors all year round. Bought them cheap and will replace when they fall apart.
IRC Mythos XCII's
You can't get them in this country now though, so **** knows what I'm going to use when my last set wear out!
nevegals DTC front and rear (rear 2.1 front 2.3)
Bonty ACX's
I never change tyres until they wear out & usually try something different each time
Next time though, I'm going with the same again High Roller/ADvantage
I may however pop a pair of small block 8s on for the Kielder 100 🙂
Nobby Nics. I used to swap tyres all the time, but don't reckon there's anything better for the type of riding I do most of the time. Not a lot of rocks round here.
Nevegals.
So to summarise before another 20 people post up 20 other tyre combos? Why not just stick names in a hat and pull out the name of the tyre you will go with! I reckon it has more logic than what tyre threads after reading hundreds of them!
I like the Panaracer XC Pros though lol

err, I guess you can get away with non-mud tyres, since you clearly DO look at the weather/conditions

oh scaredypants, you sock it to him 🙄
i have just had to buy my first tyres for 10 years,,, i have been riding around on cast off race team tyres from 1999 2000
my choice has been conti twister pro rear all the time , only problem seems to be decents on grass,, but no mud build up at all
and on the front whatever knobbly tyre is next hanging in the garage
it's only coz I am building a 29er ,, that i had to buy some new ones
Another vote for the Verticals. They may be heavy, but they roll extremely well, far better than many lighter tyres out there.
It's not all about weight, rolling resistance is important too.
maxxis dh front and rear
Mid volume, mid-tread, mid-compound.
But don't compromise on sidewalls unless you're going to ghetto tubeless them.
My personal choice ATM is 2.1 Maxxis Advantage.
IMO
Onza Porcupines
Kenda nevagal dude it's duks nuts
For XC, Bonty Mud-X front and rear or possibly Bonty Mud-X front and Bonty ACX rear.
2.1 Maxxiss Advantage
Bonty Jones ACX 2.2

(you can imagine me in a cape if it helps)
Another vote for Nobby Nics here, a great allround tyre.
I kitted all my bikes with Panaracer Darts on front and whatever they have cheap in the LBS bargain bin (its surprising what I've picked up) on the rear.
I used to run verticals all year round. Really good tyre.
However where I am they don't sell them anymore (except the Vertical ProTection which is about £45.
I'm now on mountain kings which seem to work just as well. A little bit more draggy but significantly more grip, especially in the wet.
