As the subject says.

Looking to upgrade some wheels to tubless. These will be rebuilt onto existing hubs for a frame that doesn't have disc mounts.

Any advice?

Cheers

Guessing that if it doesn't have disc mounts it's not a 29er...

In terms of actually being designed with tubeless in mind you'll struggle. The only options I can think of are the Stan's 355 and the DT X3.1, both long discontinued.

I'd get a rim of your choice and a conversion kit.

Aren't 819s v-brake compatible?

I'm looking at my 819's now and although there is about a 5mm lip it's half the size of a normal rim brake rim. I wouldn't use a rim brake on it.

Ah, I'm behind the times- used to be a v-brake 819 but discontinued.

I know it's not exactly what you're after but I suspect my set (in an old Crossmax Enduro wheelset) are v-brake compatible, if that's any use...

D'you know, I thought they discontinued the rim brake version of the 819 (the 819 being the X3.1), but that's a (heavy and expensive) option.

try http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/ - they are pretty helpful and stock a lot of rims
