For riding xc trails I found it worked better at 120 - 130mm. I found the front end to slack at 140 - 150mm. With the longer fork found it was a bit slow and cumbersome and didn't climb too well. With the shorter fork length it balanced the bike out a bit and made it a better all rounder with more than enough stability on technical or steep sections.

But when riding DH I would extend the fork back out to 150mm (I have a u-turn fork).

I had 160mm on mine at first (only forks I had when I got the frame) but I did run them with a soft spring in.

Then I got some 140mm Pikes, they were nice

than I got some 150mm Revelations, they were fine too but I did wind them in a bit (U-Turn) when going upwards.

5" is perfect I'd say.
I did run them with the U-turns wound in to 120mm once but it didnt feel great to me.

U-turn 120-150. I think if I had to choose I'd be thinking 130. Currently it's great to be able to ride up at 120 and then wind out to 150 for the way down.

140mm Fox floats on my "old" baby blue 456, 150mm revs on my 456 evo. TBH I did find the old one a bit wandery occasionally on steeper climbs, but the evo seems a better climber even with 150 travel. Probably in my mind!

Both forks were fixed travel but they did/do have a lock out which helps.

Descend great with 150s but climbs like a dead dog. U turns or similar would probably be good.

120-150 DPC Sektors, run at 120 most of the time, with 150 occasionally when needed.
