I have a reverb waiting to be delivered from santa i.e. Mrs Tinyhorse come xmas so im going to use a bolted seat clamp (will be hope as my QR is and its been good)
What is the torque setting for a 05 enduro frame seat clamp.
Also need a cheap torque wrench so any reccomendations......
Its a balance between stopping the post rotating and loose enough to allow the reverb to go up and down - there is no real science to it...
i thought most manufacturers would have a selected torque for the seat clamp
clamping force from a specific torque will depend on lots of variables - most importantly the profile and material of the clamp its self - the tollerance between the seat post and the frame and the clamp.
at best hte frame manufacturer might guess at a torque where most seat clamps wont bust there frames.
ive worked on projects where the seat post , the seat clamp AND the frame have all had different torque figures - you start at the lowest and work up till you find where the post doesnt slip - using your better judgement as oppose a complete guess.
Using carbon grip paste helps lower the torque needed for the seat to stop slipping.
