I've got a YT Jeffsy 29 Comp which is absolutely amazing.
Second bike is a Cotic Soul. I love it, but I don't use it so much, it's not as fast rolling, light or good on rough stuff. So I'm thinking of turning it into a bit of a local XC bike for winter. It's got DHF/SS tyres on now. Would a simple tyre change make it decent for winter long rides? I live in a really flat area.
Thinking also if the jeffsyvisbout of service for a bit I could always do a tyre switch back to more knobbly tyres on the soul.
Sure, tyres change will do it and go from there.
Mudguards are a good option too imo.
Any recommendations on XC tyres? For tarmac, gravel and canal towpaths for the winter?
If you're really not going to venture into the mud, I'd go for Racing Ralphs. Still got enough tread for when the towpath gets a bit floppy.
