You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm off to bpw next month as part of a family motor home trip. Looking for something for the wife and teenage daughter to do for a day nearby.
Bear in mind she won't drive the motor home. So needs to be easily accessible.
Where's best to base ourselves for a couple of days before I head on up to revolution.
Any advice welcome
There is a cinema and a nandos...
Cardiff is a short train ride away.
“There is a cinema and a nandos…”
And a bowling alley and McD’s.
Cardiff is always good to have a look around (and easy by train from BPW) - if she's adventurous theres the White water rafting Centre in the bay or just enjoy the coffee shops, shopping etc
They can catch a train from Pentrebach* to Cardiff. V regular trains but they can't start boozing until the train get past Ponty.
*Or Merthyr but Pentrebach's the nearest gorsaf.
Castell Coch is worth a visit.
Cyfarthfa Castle (And Park) is very nice - worth checking out the history of Merthyr to get a grip on how massively industrialised the area was.
Cardiff has plenty to do.
There's a lickle steam engine railway museum nearby!

(Pontsticill reservoir according to my Google photo location)
Maybe they could go for a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway. I would!
Thanks I'll check some of these out. Is there a campsite nearby or somewhere we can park up close to amenities for a couple of nights ?
Not sure how far away it is but I was very pleasantly surprised by "The Big Pit". Really wasn't expecting much at all, but spent a very interesting afternoon there with Mrs Ready a few years back.
Our guide used to work it, and was still very passionate about the place.
Expect a bit of gentle and not so gentle England/Thatcher bashing too! (We went the day after England lost the Rugby to Australia, and the score had been chalked on what seemed nearly every wall...)
Since you need something which is either in Merthyr or accessible by train I'll second going to Cardiff
Cardiff Castle https://www.cardiffcastle.com/ is right in the centre of the city and easily accessible walking from Cardiff Central train station
If you somehow manage to get transport then the National Museum of History (St Fagans) would be my recommendation https://museum.wales/stfagans/
Vulcan bar followed by Coolers if you want to experience Valleys culture 8-o
Base yourself at a campsite in Cardiff and drive up to BPW? Only 40mins from the centre.
Cardiff Caravan & Camping park is a short walk to the centre of Cardiff, the Castle, Museum, Train Station etc.
Not sure what it's like for the actual camping though.
St Fagans is brilliant, buses from the centre of Cardiff but worth it in my view. It is one of those real life museums with re-constructed old buildings and so on, as well as a more conventional museum bit.
