Finger tape!
I've been struggling with a finger ligament problem for ages, a climber friend told me to try finger tape. WOW went for a ride today and it was the best ride I've been on in a long time. The weather was shit, it was the same trail I've ridden a thousand times but my finger didn't hurt every time I pulled on the bars!
Proper mud tyres, always kept the same tyres on year round then heard good things about the Maxxis Beaver, gave them a go and now have fun in the mud! 🙂
Front and rear crud catchers. Look shit but less mud in my eyes and keep my arse dry 🙂
29er specific Crud guards
and going tubeless.
New bike 🙂
cx races and converting my cx tyres to tubeless
Trailstar compound Hans Dampf up front...can't believe how grippy it is.
New gear cables and a TF fork service... Night and day difference
Garmin Edge 500 and Strava, kept me motivated all year to train and not slack off, having my best ever cross season.
Shimano AM41 Shoes has made my Day!! Much lighter than my 5 tens. 🙂
Also a type 2 mech, feel much more confident pedalling hard over the rough stuff.
Hope V Twin on my cross bike. Brakes that actually work!
GB
Reverb...game changer!
Out front Garmin mount. So much easier to read.
Building a mini pump track, 5 foot drop off and gap jump in the garden. Now just wondering how I can build something bigger. Improved confidence, cornering and jumping no end.

All 5 star purchases
Swapping my cove hustler frame for a 5 spot frame, total game changer. Component wise, reverb and Hans Dampf front tyre.
New pikes and going from a nobby nic to a rubber queen on the rear (putting the baron i already had on the front), conditions have got muddy, but feels like summer levels of grip again.
Reverb. I was always cynical about them, but now that I've used one, I doubt I'll go back. They're great!
Steel framed 29er.
Fatbike
Dropper seatpost
the £20 bundle from planet x, that includes overshoes, gloves, 3 pairs of socks and a woolly hat.
Kept me nice and toasty last week on the commute and the quality is better than expected to-date.
Going 29er single speed and rigid, major fun ,light and fast 🙂
Strava for 'sessioning' climbs to see how fitness improves, as I'm too lazy to press the chrono start on my watch.
Leaning the bike but not me (if that makes sense) into corners.
Moving from a 2002 FSR to a 2009 FSR frame - like night and day.
Lights. I couldn't see owt before in the dark.
Reverb too.

Jelly babies, quick energy boost when I need it and I love biting their heads off first 😆
Giving up gluten. My muscles work now!
Defeet gloves, wiggle 12 quid , perfect.
12mm bolt through rear wheel
Cathkin Braes - no mud
Anthem 29er. Never would have thought it was my type of bike...but I'm loving it
having a bike has vastly improved my rides. been without one for a little while.
Dropper and wide carbon risers
ESI grips and my Shimano M162 shoes
Oh and morning porridge!
New rear rim.... My race bike has been immobile for 2 years because of it being busted.
Now ive entered a race and even trained and things just because the bikes rebuilt and in gwo.
Wearing a hat under my helmet. No more head colds for me.

I'm riding things I used to bottle out on when on my beloved 456ti!
XX1 Drive train, Float X rear shock and Solo-air Pikes upfront, a major difference bar some early problems.
Onza Ibex tyres, absolutely fantastic. Running the 2.25 FR on the rear and 55a 2.4 DH on the front. Fast rolling, lightish and ridiculous levels of grip when pushed hard. Good strong side walls too.
Not having a Mountain Bike anymore.
+1 for onza ibex tyres
and new charger for my magicshine..(the original one melted..)
Not had much chance to ride it in anger but KS Lev is tres awesomeness
Also ESI grips.
Next up will be Shadow+ rear mech.
I've just fitted a Singular fork which I picked up from here.. again, not had much chance to ride it in anger, but from a couple of brief spins, it really feels great..
It's tweaked the geo a tiny bit for the better, but I would also say that the compliance feels much smoother than the carbon fork that it replaces..
I'm looking forward to giving it a more thorough test in some tougher conditions..
Fitting carbon bars, carbon 26" rigid forks and 29er front wheel to my single speed.
A road bike.
ITO mountain biking, getting descent brakes.
pocketrocket pump on road bike - back up to full pressure after puncture with zero faff - why can't all pumps do what they are supposed to?
My reverb... and merino socks
Just bought the Planet X Flanders bundle.
Thanks for that.
Castelli espresso jacket - rain and cold aren't an issue anymore, plus the cut os so comfortable
Sufferfest training program - getting fitter
Lyriks
decide where front wheel needs to be, put front wheel there, front wheel stays there.
niceness
Reverb fitted to my lovely Rocket 😀
Croozer trailer so we/I can get out with the wee man. Priceless!
My <£5 Aldi over shoes - warm dry feet. Lovely.
Just fitted a front mudguard (below fork Bridge) and im amazed at the difference it makes descending, no more squinting through one eye, and the washing machine is happier too..
New 29er too...
Best bit of kit on it without doubt is a clutch mech. Worth the upgrade to 10speed on its own.
Next upgrade I've got high hopes for will be carbon rims.
Bontrager Solstice windproof full gloves. Not too hot and not too cold.
My main bike had always felt too small. Changed the stem from 60 to 80mm, bars went to 680 to 720mm. Made the world of different.
And I bought a cheapo pair of winter running tights to wear over the shorts. Now means I can peel them off at the back door and leave the mud there... for later.
Building a mini pump track,
Got any links to any decent sites to help plan a pump track build? I think the garden in my new house is gonna be big enough for a small pump track, or maybe a circle of small hip jumps!

+1 for coaching too
Today, my new Gore Xenon wind stopper jacket. A cold, cloudy ride with long descents (10km) and it saved my skin.
The return of mud and bad weather oddly enough. Kind of reminds me why I love being out on a mountain bike. Rides are a tad shorter, bike needs a bit more tlc but otherwise it is splashy, splashy fun out there.
