I hear that XT brakes work better with thick disc rotors. Any recommendations?

My new Formula 2-piece rotors seem quite thick in comparison to Hope and Hayes

You hear you say...
What about the xt rotors? Got hope floating on one bike and xt on the other, can't say rotor thickness feels like an issue unless your into the paper thin weight weenie ones...

I used XTs for a while with some Avid G3 rotors and the servo wave action makes them a bit bitey at the expense of modulation

They're better with RT 66/76s imo

Magura rotors are thicker (2mm vs a standard 1.8mm IIRC).

So how does that work when your pads wear down?
I cant see how disc width is particularly relevant tbh.

Apparently it does help solve a problem I posted about earlier

That was my issue and solution, however I since found I had a stuck piston.

They still bite better on a thicker disc.

I got on well with the cheapy superstar rotors. I found they didn't warp nearly as badly as shimano or hopes.
