Anyony been riding out in this area, its on the road to Chamonix. St Gervais quite a good ski area apparently but no idea what the riding is like.
I'm not a big gnarly downhill jump type person so prefer sort of flowy singletrack or lakes district type stuff
Also hows the road riding, couldnt see too many passes i recognised apart from Col de la Colombiere.
Might be out this way sometime this summer so wondering what bike to take!
I stayed in StG last summer with the family and used the Betex lift a couple of times. I wish I'd used it more. There's also a fabulous trail from the lift station down to the Thermes called Pipeline from the Chamonix bike book. I've got a spare copy if you need it.
cool, didnt realise there was a book will look into that.
Thanks
Plenty of road riding - get yourself a copy of michelin local map 328 - Ain, Haute-Savoie. Lots of nice roads out of Beaufort (south west of St Gervais).
Just over the hill from where they have the MBRace in Megeve/Combloux. Not sure how many of the trails are open outside the race, but there's a lot up there.
