Daughter is getting a bit big for trailer. What tagalong for disused railway?

Cheers,

Mick

Isla Trailerbike recommended highly (by others) when we were looking; need to buy s/h though and we didn’t in the end.

S/h look for Burley or Islabikes. They both attach to a rack which improves handling.

Edit Burley available new also

The burley is excellent. I ran it behind my kiddyback tandem. But I’ve also run an old Adams as well that fastened to the rear seatpost. If I am honest, there is nothing in it. The Burley may have tracked a little better and felt a bit more solid (at 40 mph this mattered) but for general duties I was surprised how good the Adams Trail-a-bike was.

Oh and the Adams is easier to secure to the bike. The hitch on the Burley is a pain to screw down and back to disengage. The rack is VERY overbuilt though and will take luggage. I’d buy the Adams next time.

Buy used. Don’t worry about gears. They don’t use them and don’t pedal either. Add a rear mudguard to your bike.

Follow me tandem. It’s great, unhitch their bike and they can cycle along until they get tired, then hitch them back on and away you go. Solid and stable.

Trail Angel is another good option if the Follow Me is too spendy.

Similar to but much better than a Trailgator

Raleigh impact and the follow me +1
Second time in as many days that I've recommended the follow me.
It's unbelievably good if you set it up right.

I got the TraxMTB which was roundly mocked on here at the time. It's actually rather good and weighs so little it stays on the bike all the time.

I'd recommend at least considering it as an option.
