Hi guys,

I'm fancying a build a bike project and have my heart set on a steel frame. I'm erring towards Reynolds 853 (more because everyone say's they're the best) but unsure whether a 'non-awesome, non-shreddy, non-jumpy very high' rider like myself would really notice if it's 520, 725 or non reynolds?
Long story short what would be a good second hand frame to build around? Rock lobster? Genesis? Are the on-one steel any good? http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOSSLTD/on_one_inbred_26er_single_speed_ltd_edition

More importantly can i pick up a decent steel frame for less than £150?

A point in the right direction would be great, thanks in advance.

No need to use the search button. If you wait 5 minutes, a "what hardtail" thread will appear.

In true STW fashion, i'll recommend you purchase what I own:

A Dialled Prince Albert.

In which case:
I own, and think is ace, sprightly and springy Sanderson Breath.

The perfect headangle for this frame is 71 degrees however can be changed upon request.

I still like the finish - always had a soft spot for them - the price is for a custom frame which isn't to bad. Dirt jumpers like stee head angles it seems.... but you could always spec a lower head angle.

I have a Kinesis Decade Versa II which I love, much much better than my old On-One 456.
