Scratching up inside the cast.
Currently rocking a nice straight pull, works well but wondering if I should have gone J-bend

I dunno, but if you break that straight pull your LBS is more likely to stock a standard J-bend...
The real question is plain gauge for 'pokability stiffness' or a nice thin DB for flexibility to reach those tricky areas?
Unless you've got a very tight cast and need a flatter section CX ray to get it down there?

Neither, don't break the skin or you'll get a nasty infection, try and find a nice smooth bamboo knitting needle, far safer
