Looking for some trainer-esque SPD shoes for the commute/pub/shopping

Ideally comfortable to walk in (not too stiff) and not too vented either

My Giro Rumbler have started falling apart, they've done a lot of miles though

Under £100

Seems like a lot of the shoes in this category are now designated "gravel shoes" and are priced accordingly...

One of mine has some 2FO roost clip in a nice blue leather finish. He's used them for uni for a few years - you wouldn't know they were SPD at a glance.

I've got Velosambas

A little clappy when walking on hard surfaces due to some stiffness, but ok.

Other colours are available

Try looking at Scott. I have a pair of casual MTB shoes from a few years ago via StartFitness that were very reasonably priced.

I thought Sambas had been ruined for good.

Older Shimano Am5 here, but the new Am5 and Am7 look pretty discrete in the darker colours.

I bought some muddy fox bike shoes that are comfy and reasonably flexible for walking. Look ok. Only £40 when I bought them from that direct sports shop that you find on retail parks 🤔

Posted this and forgot to check back! Thanks for all the suggestions.

The giro rumble vr is what I'm replacing, they're ok but I fancied trying something else.

They look good but were very tappy while walking as the cleats touched the floor. Also the mesh over the toes was very thin and let water straight in.

The velosambas are cool but I was possibly after something more skatery or walking shoey, more my style (middle aged dad that fashion forgot) 😂

Might take a punt on a pair of CB Mallets or Pearl Izumi Canyon
