Ok, so I’ve got a Specialized stumpjumper fsr 2016, it had a sram pf30 bb, but I want to convert it to shimano, anyone know which one I need please, the bb shell is a lot larger than normal, I think it’s about 45mm accross, thanks in advance
Shimano don't make one to fit.
There are some different options. You can use some spacers to go with your current BB to sleeve it down to 24mm, and make it wider to suit a Shimano crank, or...
The better option would be to go with a Hope/Enduro/Praxis converter BB, that will fit in the PF30 BB shell (46mm diameter, often referred to in the trade as Press Fit 46 or PF46), and allow you to run a Shimano 24mm axled crank in it natively... 👍🏻
Ive got a ‘16 stumpjumper sworks, i run the hope PF bottom bracket and a shimano crank on it. Never had a peep out of it in 3 years.
Not a cheap bb and you have to have lbs fit it or buy the special tools, but has been reliable for me. Why they cant just thread the shells as a standard so we can fit decent £20 XT BB’s is beyond me...
