Having changed from a rear mounted rack to roof bars, (rear mounted no longer fits new car), what are the options for a roof carrier? I know you can get fat bike adaptors for the Thule 598 but anything else?

My Krampus was OK on a normal Thule 591, just use some extra long webbing straps for the wheels.

The new Thule 599 Upride will take anything up to 29 x 3" tyres.

Another recommendation for Thule 599 Upride. I've not got a big-tyred bike, but it will certainly take them (you will  need an optional adapter kit for 3-5" tyres) and the rack itself is easily the best I've used. In case you'd not noticed, the 599 doesn't touch the frame at all, gripping only the front and rear wheels. A superb piece of design.

598 as standard works with 3" tyres, no adapters needed.

ah good to know, as my Thule - Ride ? - very old, anyway ! --racks aren't up to even 2.2/2.3s let alone 27'5+ tyres!

edit - they are 515-0192s. good enough for old hardtails and hybrid / road bikes.

Standard Thule 598 works just fine with my Krampus, Rabbit Holes and Knards/Dirt Wizards.
