Afternoon All,
Please recommend me your fav Roadie mudguards for bikes with eyelets and 28mm tyres!
Many thanks
SKS chromoplastic
Portland Design Works "Full Metal Fenders" or the cheaper Kinesis "Fend Off" tributes
As JoB - Portland Design Works. They, errr, work.
SKS Chromoplastic were trouble free on my old winter bike. I need to order a set for my new one, so thanks for the reminder.
SKS Chromoplastics. Don’t do what I did and be tempted by the matte blumels. They’re far more flexible.

SKS Longboards are decent. Good coverage for max protection for you and your bike.
I've got the Kinesis. Pretty tidy.
I like the Bontrager NCS ones, easy on and off, adjustable and solid.
Kinesis Fend Off. Solid and reliable.
Portland Design Works are worth the extra cash IMO, sturdier, neater stays that run around the outside of the guard to don't accumulate muck, and rattle less than my SKS guards (have seen people put that down to the tubular aluminium stays being stiffer than SKS steel 'wire' stays).
That being said, the SKS bluemels on the other bike are also fine, just a bit noisier over cobbles and bumps
Really pleased with my Edge AL guards. Although the front stay was only just long enough as the stay mounts halfway up the fork leg.
Yep, Fend Off. Smart and sturdy. Would buy again.
I have an unused set of PDW fenders in the garage - wrote off the frame they were going to be used for. Can't remember what width they are.

Presumably cheaper to replace the frame than the mudguards!
Of all the sets I fitted working in bike shops i would have to say Bontrager NCS. No fuss, no cutting of struts.... simples

Fair point. Went for something that won't take guards 🤷♂️
