My new crosser has a Mavic CrossRide Disc wheelset (622x19c)
It came with Racing Ralphs fitted (33-622 / 28x1.3) which look great for cross and rough stuff, but I'd like a set of roadie tyres for putting in some tarmac miles.
Ideally something relatively puncture-proof, with reflective sidewall strips (I like those), light enough, and fast but suitable for a road newbie (i.e. not razor edge)
Thoughts?
vittoria randonnuer (sp?)
Marathons come in all sizes
Which Vittoria Randonneur ton?
The Randonneur Pro looks nice - pretty light too (420g for 700x32 according to their website)
How puncture prone is it compared to something like the Marathon?
Any thoughts on the Conti Contact Reflex?
Quite a bit heavier at 550g for the 700x32 but £17 cheaper than the Vittoria Randonneur Pro - I use the MTB equivalent on my commuter and they seem okay.
Do any of the Schwalbe Marathons come with reflective sidewalls?
Graham, cheap ones from wiggle. 32c version.
Wiggle has 8 different Vittoria Randonneurs ton! 😀
The cheapest ones are the Vittoria Randonneur Cross City at £11.99 but they look quite knobbly for road use.
The Vittoria Randonneur City Tyre looks better at £13.50 - is that the one you mean?
