Looking for a new road bike and after one with discs. Is it me or is the new Cannonade Caad12 Disc a cracking deal. 105 with hydro disc brakes.

https://www.evanscycles.com/cannondale-caad12-105-5-disc-2016-road-bike-EV239394

I have a Caad10 non disc and an Ultegra Di2 disc groupset. I was just going to buy a new frame but spec wise the Caad12 looks great for an upgrade. Decent 105 Hydro groups I can then sell off to help reduce the overall cost.

However are there any other disc road deals out there for around £1500 to £2000?

Bear in mind you'll need the 785 STIs to work with your Di2, the mech ones won't

Yes I have a full Di2 hydro groupset with shifters. Should then be able to upgrade and sell the 105 hydro groupset. Thats the plan

Just to be clear cos I'm dead helpful and that - your di2 shifters won't work with disc brakes. You need the 785 STIs with the hydraulic reservoirs. If you buy a 105 groupset bike with hydro discs you'll get the 685 STIs or the new 105 level ones (585 I think) which are both for hydro discs but mech shifting. Sorry if sucking eggs etc

If you are looking at the Caad 12 then they do a full Dura Ace hydraulic version for £2500 . I know it's above budget but it looks like an absolutely blinding deal coming with Mavic Ksyrium disc wheelset as well . Colour's a bit of a love it or hate it though .

Our most popular selling bike in 2015 was the KTM Revelator Sky @ £2399 with full Ultegra Hydraulic Groupset, carbon frame and fork, DT Swiss R23 Spline tubeless wheels & Schwalbe One tyres... Fantastic bike for the money too!

I like the look of the Ridley Fenix disc.

Sorry Davosaurus, but am I being really thick?.....the OP says...

and an Ultegra Di2 disc groupset.

So he's going to swap off the full 105 disc groupset and swap on a full Ultegra di2 disc groupset. So there's no need to worry that the 105 shifters are mechanical with hydro brakes, because the whole system is being replaced.

He also has a CAAD10 non disc, which is nothing to do with the di2 groupset.

I think. 🙂

I'm a fan of the Spesh Roubaix Comp disc, especially as it's £500 cheaper than it was last year.

I should have been clearer I have Ultegra Di2 and the 785 STIs with the hydraulic reservoirs. So all should be fine. Thanks for checking davosaurusrex

There's sort of no point in getting a disc frame if it hasn't got guard mounts and clearance for guards with wider tyres.

These look pretty smart

In a lame effort to try and redeem myself I'll recommend what I've got

Full carbon fork as well

Why does everyone think all disc road bikes should have mounts for guards??? 🙄

If I wanted a race orientated disc bike, I wouldn't want to mount mudguards and I wouldn't want the versatility either. Just like I don't want the versatility on my caliper brake race bike.

There's sort of no point otherwise. If you're not using it in bad weather; why bother with discs in the first place?!

Not bothered about guard mounts as I use SKS Raceblades which work brilliantly. I want discs as calliper brakes and rain just don't mix and are bloody terrible in my option. Got a hydro disc Di2 groupset at a good price and want to try all the latest kit and tech.

Those Bowman bikes look really good and well thought out.

Condor fratello disc. Eat the miles in style and comfort. Or that CAAD12. Eat the miles a bit quicker.

Cheers all, I have plumped for the Cannondale Caad12 disc 105 as I love my Caad10 frame and it fits brilliantly. All in it should hopefully not costs me much following the upgrade and the sale of the bits I take off and the sell. (Well thats the plan) Have to say it shows there are some cracking deals out there.

Should say, slightly skewed as I have used Tesco club card points at Evans so the Caad12 has only cost £1300 + I should get another £60 cashback through Quidco

Now the question is how much is a Shimano BR785/505 Hydraulic Disc and shifter setup with 105 mechs worth?

I've got a Focus Cayo Ultegra disc. Very happy with it, much sprightlier than the Chinese carbon 'gravel' disc bike I had before. The Cayos come with half decent DT wheels which a lot of mid range disc road bikes seen to skimp on.

I saw their frames at the London bike show and decided I will have one at some point.
The blue 'Pilgrims' is stunning.

Just picked up KTM Revelator Sky Blue. Just fell in love when I saw it and had to have it. Coolest (road) bike I've ever seen. Retail is £2100. Only had one ride so far but still smiling.......KTM
