It's come with a Monarch RC3 (the one with the piggyback chamber). I'm currently running 150psi in it, but I'm just checking what everyone else is running to get 1/3 sag on it.

I'm about 70kg loaded. Someone else I know at 90kg is running his at 270psi which seems nuts.

Just trying to figure out how much to put in so I don't break it to be honest. I run around 200psi in an RP2 so I've got nothing to base this off of.

80 kgs, I think I use somewhere between 160 and 165psi.

Just shy of 30% sag seems to be the charm for me. Around 25% feels too harsh for me due to the ramp up of the suspension design.

I think your figure is correct and your friend has a faulty pressure gauge or is wearing lead underwear...

With my BOS Kirk I am at 265 psi (I weigh 103kg). Its still pretty soft so would like to increase the pressure but I am scared to do so...

So, rode it for a few hours and it seems to get quite spongy when I try and turn sharply under braking.

Any ideas how to fix this? More pressure in the shock, or can I slow down the compression using the rebound setting?

It seems to travel through the shock stroke very quickly. So quickly that I thought I'd had a flat!

...turn sharply under braking

You mean pulling a skid?

I've got the same debonair shock (on a different bike) and spoke to sram about the set up/pressures. I normaly run about 25% sag in the rear but could never use all the travel even on big drops. sram advised 35% and it feels spot on now. The air pressure is a lot higher than the non debonair monarch I had before.

@sharkattack
Sharp left hander immediately after a loose surface! You have to turn almost at the apex of the corner because the trail leading up to it is cut into a decline so if you turned before the corner you'd just catch your bars. Picture a roofless narrow chamber with rocks and dirt and you've got it.

@chrisdiesel
Does that help firm the shock up?

So setting the sag will sort out the going through the travel too quickly issue?

Little update.

Kept the pressure at 150psi and messed around with the settings (firm, something in the middle and soft?). The plushest setting properly drops you down and soaks everything up. Maybe more for full on DH tracks I reckon.

The middle setting works well for general riding where you'll have to pedal a bit. Maybe even the firm setting will be ok for it!
