As title really. Just got myself a Hero 9 black and after 3 previous failed attempts of getting on with earlier GoPros, this one finally seems to behave properly and is very intuitive to use.

I'm not looking for pro quality but would like to experiment a bit with making my own edit for Youtube or similar. Maybe some 'free' music and a bit of cutting, slowing down etc.

Is it too much to expect from a free or inexpensive piece of software?
If you do the same, what do you use and are you happy with it?

Don't want to edit on an ipad or phone as I like the huge monitor on my PC.

Thanks.

DaVinci resolve is really good, the free version has everything you could really ever need, along with lots of easy to follow online tuition videos to help you get the most out of it.

You can download free music from YouTube’s music library, some will ask you to credit the artist in return for using it with monetisation, others won’t.

Don't do it.

YT is already awash with wannabe influencers and tragic middle-aged sad sacks (still got it, it never left me) who can't ride for shit yet give out "expert" advice on bikes and equipment.

No one is interested in your slow boring bike rides. Don't be one of them!

I'm currently using Shotcut (free version). Seems pretty good and reasonably easy to use...lots of tutorial voideos around.

Cheers, some good info - apart from Chester who clearly knows what my intentions are and how good a rider I am.

The free one in windows 10. Just type video into the search bar. You might out grow it but you'll have learnt lots on the way. Way to use add more than enough features to get started.

Davinci wouldn't run on my pc as it runs on the graphics card.

Here is my video on the basics. I think I assumed you are making a cooking video fur my college. But the principle still holds

Lightworks is also good and free.  I'm not sure either it or DaVinci resolve are very intuitive though as they are both powerful tools.  If you just want to chop up some video to fire on youtube then the windows 10 one will be okay.  If you want to produce something slick then be prepared for some learning

Shotcut+1

Just PLEASE don't add any of those loud, shouty, colourful captions on your thumbnail/title frame...

Thanks again. There'll be no shouty crap or anything stupid.

Fair enough Copper one 😉

I'm not after creating a channel to make money etc. It's solely for me, friends and family.
Main reason is I'm simply interested in the technology and like watching myself*

*That sounds so wrong and only applies to biking lol.

What even is this sentence LOL. Try harder next time.

Davinci Resolve is really all you need, and the loam ranger video above is super useful.

I’ve started using Filmora X. Its not free but has subscription or one off payment services.

Coming from Adobe Rush, I’m really impressed with it.

I've recently switched from Filmora to Da Vinci Resolve at work, primarily because there was zero cost implication when more people wanted to get creative with their social media contributions.

I had a look at some of the introductory tutorials for Da Vinci, and found this one walked people through the basics fairly succinctly, and had most people up and running with minimal additional input from me.

Ok ok meebee I was a bit salty LOL

Anyway I'm reaching out here. So I was actually thinking and you could do like a sick lockdown dance edit with light up shoes, tip a abattoir mop bucket over your head: everybody like animals don@t they; a baboon a trail baboon that's not been done has it blowvember planking on a BSOfree bike

Monetization (don't ****ing swear) free swag_ merch_yeh for ya side hustle.

May I ask how old are you?

From the music and comments you’ve previously posted, I’d guess somewhere near mine (49), yet your level of decorum and personal skills suggests about 14.

Seen as how the majority of my posts have been deleted I've still got one question.

How many Go Pros do you have to buy to get one that doesn't randomly freeze/crash?

Narcissistic fools and their money LOL ROFL #nooneaskedu2 #flashingplasticdildo #lookmum #notshaggingabouthonestjustplayingonbikesinthewoods

my 7 had a wobbly the other day where I got a stereo effect on the rear display. took batter out and it was fine after. I think gopros are crap for reliability but there is nothing else. quite a few 9's have sound issues too.
