The rear wheel on my London Road has had it, I think the wettest December on record has killed it and there is now a horrible rumble coming from the hub and a good lateral wobble! What relatively cheap replacements are there out there off the shelf? Hope are too expensive, what about the Kinesis or Mavic offerings? The bike is used for commuting only but gets used in all weathers, all year round durability is key. Currently running a SRAM 11 speed cassette and 35mm Marathon Plus tyres. Any real world experience appreciated.

Dunno if your cassette fits, but I got a set of cheap factory Shimanos from Merlin a few years ago.

Probably due a change, not looked at the rim walls in ages, but have been pretty much perfect.

No idea if I just got lucky, but they have been properly abused.
RS30's I think, the rims seem very stiff, not the comfiest or lightest things but apart from inevitable rim wear, spot on.

I think they were about £125.00?

Would replace with something similar, when they go.

Sometimes you can replace the bearings, works out a lot cheaper
