Well, technically need to clean the thread on a mech hanger alignment tool... but same thing.

Anyone got a link to an eBay nut that is the same size/pitch as a frame mech hanger please?

m10x1mm is the thread, but if its just dirty cant you use a tooth brush or something similar

Shimano cup-and-cone hub nut should do it,if you have an old rear hub to hand...

M10 1mm as above.

So...

Many old cup and cone hubs will have nuts shinano for sure, track nuts, female chainring bolts.

Not had any shim hub stuff for many a year now so will try and buy a nut as you guys describe, cheers!

@tagnut the actual thread is not well milled so needed to run it through a bit with a nut to hopefully improve it.

Can't you borrow a thread cutting die from a friendly local stwer?

I'd use the die cutter - much less likely to stuff the thread further.
