Currently have cube attempt.
Alloy job weighs about 9 kg, nice riding bike though not much to compare itto saying as my last road bike was a raleigh banana nearly 30 years ago.
Mostly for shorter spins and club road races lasting an hour or so
Thinking Planet X n2a or rt57
Seen
Ms to be a guy on eBay esc golf flogging a lot of them
Anyone any advice?

Chinese carbon.
Mavic ksyruim elites.
105 5800 groupset.
Finishing kit of your choice.

All of that lot should come in under £1200 and 8kg.

Take a look at the following...

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/reviews/road-bikes/ktm-revelator-3300

Got a 2014 model at work in your size going for £1k (was £1300). Ride one myself (albeit upgraded quite a bit), it's an awesome bike!

Just buy something that you'll want to ride, bought my Bianchi as it was the one that made me most want to get out on the roads, it sees more use than any of my other bikes as a result despite having an 'inferior' groupset

That used TCR Advanced SL4 🙂

Any Medium used TCR Advanced. Or a CAAD10 if you like alloy.

Anything wrong with the cube? Seems a well regarded bike. May be better to spend the grand on some decent upgrades. Maybe take some weight off it, better wheels too?

www.paulscycles.co.uk for reduced cannondales and see what theyve got on a 54 and your budget.

I could do you a good deal on a used KTM Revelator carbon frame if you're just after the frame....

Another KTM Revelator fan.

Mine is my training bike and I am nothing but happy with it.
