I have a Saracen Hack which I’m starting to use for local shopping trips / jobs and could do with some mudguards as I have to cross a muddy field.  What fits?

Thanks.

OK then, what mudguards for a carbon forked disc gravel bike that allows good clearance 🙂

Hi, I've got a 2013 hack 2 and I'm using sks bluemels although mine hasn't got any mudguard mounts on the forks so I had to use p clips to attach mine.

cheers.

Ash.

I'll jump on here, as I have a Hack in need of full length mudguards. Like the look of the SKS Bluemells too, but what size do I need for a 30/32c semi-slick tyre? Will the 45's (rated for 23-28 tyres) 'just-about-fit'?

Cheers, the bluemels look good. What p clips did you use?  Have you got a pic of the fixing tot eh fork?

Also seen the crud catcher mk3 that looks interesting.

I have some SKS Chromoplastics (er, whatever width suits a 35c and 28c tyre) on my now cracked 2015 hack 1. I put some helitape on the fork to protect it as there is a thinner bit on the front mudguard, but it doesn't extend the full length through the fork if that makes sense - and carbon does wear quite quickly if anything is rubbing it with a bit of road muck mixed in.

Mine had mudguard mounts. Not sure if the 2014 does.

Edit, of course long boards might be a better option depending on your needs. I had to bend the stays around the brake.

Watch for toe overlap if you're on a 54 or smaller, mine was dreadful with guards on. For guards with proper stays there's a fair amount of bending required to clear the front disc calliper but it can be done. Needed p-clips on mine as no mounts, plenty of helitape underneath them
