My nephew is now getting quite keen on MTB. He uses his VANS shoes on bike, but now getting very wet and cold feet.
What shoes does anyone recommend. He uses flat pedals. Something more waterproof and warm for winter and 'cool' enough for a youngster.
He is using flat pedals for now, and does not have an unlimited budget.
FiveTens? There's a facebook group for buying and selling grown-out-of FiveTens.
At that age he'll be growing quickly - will he out grow them or wear them out?
If it's out grow them then something at the cheaper end might make more sense
+1 for the 'yoof' 5:10's they made a huge difference to my offspring's confidence because of the way they stick to pedals.
They can usually be found 2nd hand for sensible money and so long as he doesn't annihilate them you should be able to sell them on afterwards.
It's shoe size matters.
However as he's using flats 5 tens but choice changes in "adult" sizes. For some reason the "kids" sizes are (or were) only available in moistuaneum... (that special material that gets wet and stays wet)
Waterproof socks. My lad (same age) is using skate shoes.
