Specifically, with enough internal clearance to work with cheaper shimano cup and cone hubs, without having to remove the outer locknut from the axle?
What's the matter with using a Shimano TL-LR15 as it's the correct tool for the job
20 quid!
Having found my nice old park tools one didn't work on cup and cone cl hubs/rotors, I got this one and its fine. And 1/4 the price.
10 seconds of googling suggests they can be had for £10 - £13, I'm sure a bit more effort could find a cheaper source.
EDIT - the SS one looks like it would do the job too, the internal bore looks nice and big so wouldn't expect ti to foul on locknuts.
what tool are you using now?
I think I use an old freewheel tool
I have a cassette lockring tool, think the Park one. Fine for the front hub but not enough internal clearance for the rear.
julianwilson, thanks - just what I was looking for.
