... for someone who rides 3-4 times a year in the dark but may do 6hrs at SITS?

I have a 900 Lumen DX light, and could get a spare battery for £20 with the lead flapping in the rain.

Or a set of Ay Up's with the longer battery (6hr) for £154 which'd be good for the rest of my riding life (probably).

Thoughts / alternatives (consider £150 to be max budget)?

Really seems silly to pay much more or buy another light setup, for the amount of use your talking about.
Check out "open light systems" batteries or the newer MJ-6008 magicshine battery for a better quality unit.

Not for DX, & I have looked. You have to pay a bit more and use a UK site.

http://www.magicshine.co.uk/batteries/rechargeable-battery-mj-6008.html
(not a recommendation for the site, just the 1st I couuld find)

Ah, I was using Magicshineuk.co.uk!

Looks good, 8.4 as well so I may get increased burn time.

Thanks
