Want to replace the Fox 32 on my xc bike as it’s getting on a bit & Cube were a bit cheap and fitted a straight 1 1/8 girl in a tapered head tube. Opportunity to shave a little more weight too.

It’s a 29er & I want 100mm of travel. Preferably not Boost so I don’t have to space the front wheel out. Preferably at the lighter end of the scale.

Cost isn’t too much of an option for the right fork.

I’m currently vacillating between SID World Cup & 32 step cast Factory. Have seen the DT Swiss ones which look ok & also the BOS Dizzy although they aren’t mega light.

Anyone got any recommendations/alternates?

Reba? I’ve had both Reba and SID in various flavours and my pick would be an older Reba dual air every day.

SID is lighter, and probably a better racing fork but for the 100g penalty I’d take the Reba for general use.

I'm very happy with a 32 stepcast which I've abused for about 6 months. I'm planning a fancy build later this year and will go for stepcast for that too.

Disclaimer- I am a bit of a mincer

The Mrs has Reba on her bike which are ‘nice’ but I’m a shameless tart so I’d prefer ‘really nice’ if that makes sense?

BOS Dizzy are pretty light (1600g or so), on account of not having a remote; they are also out of production, so you may get a good deal if you can still find them.

If the SIDs have the newer Charger 2 damper, then they are worth the extra, otherwise go for a Reba with a Novyparts damper :P.

The DT's work well in 100mm, they also have massive tyre clearance so you can even run a 27.5 x 3" plus tyre in them with room to spare.

Also handy for classic 'British summer' conditions.
