Does anyone know what the little black tubes are for that come with Shimano BR RS785 brake calipers?
I believe that's the collar that you put on the tube when bleeding the brakes.
Push it along the tube and tight up to the nipple, and it 'locks on' so to speak
My guess is that they go between the bolt and caliper (i.e. slip inside the bolt holes in the caliper). I've never noticed them on Shimano MTB calipers so I checked an online manual, but couldn't see them on a brief skim, so that's just a guess.
Edit: LittleNose makes more sense to me.
Little black bits go over the ends of the spring to keep it springy while in the packaging .
+1 as Cheesybeenz says.
However, what is the little split ring thing on the LH of the picture for, what does that do ?

There should be two of them. It's (supposed to be) a locking ring for the bolts. It'll stop the bolts unwinding if they aren't tightened. Completely useless.
