Thinking of trying some hydros on new frame. Always had BB7s up to now, but seems good as time as any to try something new!

I want something that is relatively cheap, robust, easy to change pads and easy to bleed.

Recommendations??

Shimano Deore would fit the bill. I also really like Hope stuff but much more expensive.

Hayes Stroker Rydes - £37 an end at Chain Reaction at the mo. They've had some good reviews too.

2nd Deore. Don't know how easy they are to bleed 'cause I've never had to. Also got Hope's on one of the other bikes and while they're also good they require a bit more effort to set-up properly.

Setting up Deore's is about the same as setting up Avid BB7's.

i've gone from bb7s to maguras.
went with the mineral oil option rather than the dot fluid.
and yes easy to bleed as long as you have a kit.

I`ve bought a pair of Avid Juicy 3 for my old trek and they are very good considering the Price £99 for the set .
I have the juicy 7 in my Specialized since 3 years and they never give my any problems and they are very powerful .. so thats why i went for the juicy 3 ...
Good luck

I still run BB7s on the SS
But I've also been running Magura Louise.
The julies use a fair bit of plastic in the lever assembly.
Louise are all metal.

Didn't like the idea of Dot fluid. So it had to be shimano or magura.

Deore. Bleeding them is a 5 minute job.
