Anyone recommend any good grips? Brought myself a used Pinnacle Ramin to get back into mountain biking but the standard grips are horrid. Looking for something a bit bigger diameter and softer too. The ones on the bike feel like your just holding the bars.
I like the DMR Deathgrips I got a while back.
They've worn relatively quickly, but I'm happy to put up with that.

A lot of people seem to like ODI Rogues.
I've got hands like some kind of ape, so if you're after bigger diameter I always go for Lizard Skins Northshore. Nice and comfy too
I like my lock-on Ergon GA2 Fat Grips: http://www.ergon-bike.com/en/article-ga2-fat.html Cost about 23 quid. I wear them without gloves.
+1 for DMR Deathgrips, they're super comfy, available in a buch of different colours, compounds, and with/withut flange, and great value compared to a lot of others.
I just spend a full week riding on them in Spain and never thought about my hands once, they really are excellent.
Dmr deathgrips +1, or Pilgrips.
Another vote for Ergon GA2 Fat Grips. I've got them on my Santa Cruz, and they're very comfy.
I like Oury's
Retro style and nice and squishy, clean up well too.
Just this minute bought another pair for my new bars.

Another vote for Erghon GA2 fat grips - they are not that fat - been my favourite grip out of a lot I tried and tested!
Jumping on the back of this thread, I need new grips and I would also like a slightly wider bar - are there any grips which you can safely fit so that the outside of the grip is up to 10mm past the outside of the bar (effectively extending the width of the bar by 20mm)?
The fatter, harder Deathgrips for me.
They're not actually hard compound, they almost feel same as soft ones but just last longer.
Deathgrips give you almost an extra 20mm in measured width anyway, and that's fitted properly.
Unless you already have closed end grips - then it might not change of course.
Another vote for Deathgrips.
I think their "Race" compound might be the best. It's the softest they do, but seems particularly hard wearing too.

Deathgrips will do that, should dive you 10-20mm width. Ergon also, but the ends are angled. (I didnt like the Ergons)
I might have some Death Grips to sell.. start the bidding...
Liking Ergon's GE1 Factory EVOs. Tried the slim and they felt a bit harsh, got a set of standards and they are much better, feel great, grip well and provide excellent comfort on longer rides. Highly recommended.
I also have Death Grips to sell on… but they are the thick ones… too thick for my tastes. Given it three rides to try and get used to them… they're not for me.
The Superstar silicon grips are my personal favourite; grippy, really comfy and last ages plus they're only £17/18 with solid end caps. Loads of grip & lockring colours available too.

It seems they only have the spares listed so you'd need to order the cartridges and lockrings separately.
Anyone tried the Burgtec Minaars?
I have a few pairs of the adjustable production privee ones and they are thick, comfy and don't ever seem to wear.
Another +1 for Deathgrips. Work nicely without gloves too, they're very tactile.
Chromag wax
Last ages, comfy, wider than regular grips which works well for me.
A bit faffy to fit until I used a compressor

Deathgrips. Work nicely without gloves too,
thats why I have spares - my kid’s hands couldnt cope with the rough bit without gloves.
Had a look about and only large death grips I can find are there softer compound.
Had a look at the Ergon GA2 Fat and they do look very tempting.
"Had a look about and only large death grips I can find are there softer compound."
They're the ones I have, they're great. They do a super-soft race-only compound with much shorter lifespan but the normal soft compound lasts pretty well and is good with or without gloves.
I had death-grips on two of my bikes. As above, comfy but fast wearing. Even tho I have big hands, I preferred the thinner version.
Switched to Ergon GA3 after some real wrist/hand pain at BPW. THey look a bit odd but I'm sold. Super comfy up and down. Looks like they'll wear quickly. Not really any more expensive than 'normal grips'
