I have a 500km bikepacking route that near the halfway point goes close to my house, so i want to edit the gpx file change where in the route the start/ finish point is, as it is a circular route.

I am reluctant to pay for Komoot or RWGPS as I pay for too many apps already...

Any suggestions for a free GPX editing program, or whether it can be done in Komoot of RWGPS for free and how (i'm a bit of a luddite...)?

Can you easily crop it?

If you can I'd create a copy & crop the end, a copy and crop the start. Very easy by comparison with trying to change all the points.

You can just use a text editor to move sections around in the file.

Garmin Basecamp is a free download and will do what you want, just follow the advice above on cutting and rejoining.

Is this the Tiso route?

Hi Scotroutes, i wish i lived near Tiso route!

It is East Anglia Way, a new 500km bikepacking route through Norfolk, Cambridge and Essex. Thought it would make a full on weekend, and no need to drive anywhere...

do you actually need to pay for komoot?  If you have never signed up before I thought you got one free region when you started.  I signed up a long time ago though so it may have changed

otherwise as Scotroutes says, I use basecamp normally (or a text editor if I'm feeling really manly)
