Recently had a "Big Full Face Off". Broke my nose, smashed my lips and a broken tooth.

Now deciding to buy a Full Face lid before attempting any down hill stuff.

There are loads of FF lids - any recommendations??????? A Cheap 661 or a Urge down o matic? Cheers

One that fits - no matter how good the lid is, if it doesn't fit you well it's not going to protect you properly. Go to your nearest shop with a decent selection and try some on.
Lids i rate and have owned include:
Fox Rampage
Giro Remedy
Troy Lee D2

I'd thoroughly recommend the Deviant II if it fits you. Great ventilation (took it onto the south downs up some gopping hills and never once felt overheated.

661 Evo is very nice - as said though, get the one that fits best. Don't buy one that's too big, most full faces need a bit of breaking in - it should be snug enough that it won't move around on your head. Also, a good test is to put it on, then push the mouthpiece towards your chin (imagine landing face first) - if it comes into contact, then try something else.
