Ive got a Cotic Jeht frame awaiting building in the lovely dark blue. Im looking for a clear gloss protectiin tape for the top tube so that my gritty mtb shorts dont scour the paint and make it look matt.

I used to use biketart tape but they dont seem to sell it any more. Can anyone recommend me something?

Thanks

Ian

I went for HKT matt on my flaremax but they do gloss too. Does the job nicely and from a sheffield company.

If Invisiframe do a kit I would 100% recommend theirs. The best you’ll find and pretty easy to fit properly (you’d need to be rather ham-fisted to mess it up)

Invisiframe or Ridewrap are your best bet. As above, go for the 100% coverage option.

DYEDBro has always worked well for me.

Dyedbro for me too.

Thicker than invisiframe, although not as sculptured

I bought a nice big sheet of matte stuff from these people recently, to do littleginges new bike, for about £15 (including the delivery). More than enough to do a few frames very well but a lot more faff than a precut invisiframe kit as each panel takes a good bit of time to trial fit and shape. Seems decent quality so far.

Edit, forgot the link.

I use Gusset Tek Tape, it's just 3M helitape but you can get a decent size piece for a reasonable price and know it's genuine stuff.

I use Autoglym Super Resin on my top tube to polish out the scratches.

Not sure how thick the paint is though...
